Archive Anxieties

Who's afraid of the SAAI?

Archive - what was that again? Plans in dusty drawers? Or models from other times? How do you find what you are looking for there - and how do you know what to look for in the first place? Once a semester, the Chair of Architectural Theory takes a mini-excursion into the saai: the realm of architectural treasures and surprises, a fund of old and new questions, and the models of past futures for society. In conversation with archivists, librarians and restorers we will get to know processes and contents, no need to be shy. If you are interested, please contact the secretariat by email.

Research Brunch

No colloquium, no lecture, no formalities: at our regular research brunch, we discuss work in progress in a relaxed setting. Across status groups and degrees of elaboration, researchers exchange ideas and projects in a constructive and cooperative atmosphere. Food and drink are provided, after all we want to nourish body and soul.

Theory Clinic

Walk Ins Welcome

Once a month, the Chair of Architectural Theory gets in the way: as a "theory clinic" without an appointment in the middle of the hallway next to our offices. If you have questions about the design process, are looking for references, or want to do a test review, stop by. Through open discussion rounds and table critiques, we approach the relevant questions and neuralgic points - completely unbiased. Just show up, walk-ins are welcome (there might even be popcorn!).
